Introduction
Sanskrit is a Classical language of south Asia that belongs to the Indo- Aryan branch of the Indo European Languages.The department aims to inculcate among the students a quite knowledge of Sanskrit literature and language developing their imagination and critical thinking and make them productive citizens of the society.

The Dept. of Sanskrit started its journey in 2014 with General Course, as per Notice No. IC/Affln./14-15/P-67/89 dtd. 15/07/2014. Later the Honours Programme started as per notice No. IC/Affln./17-18/P-67/ 1995 Dated 30.05.2017
